ALERT!!!
LOCAL 369 NOR THE AFM HAS A CONTRACT WITH CONSTITUTIONAL FOLLIES.
Dear members,
There has been some publicity circulating recently regarding a show called Constitutional Follies.
On their website, the producer claims that they have "quietly negotiated guild and union contracts for the production." A tentative opening at the Thomas & Mack Center in late March or early April is also advertised.
This is to inform you unequivocally that there are no AFM or Local 369 contracts for this show, and IATSE (stagehands) are also not contracted!
President Leone met with the show's principals earlier this year. The gist of the conversation was an attempt by the producer to have Local 369 invest a significant sum of money in the project which of course we are forbidden to do under labor law. It goes without saying that we would never have considered their proposal under any circumstance.
Please be advised that this situation exudes precarious overtones. If you are approached regarding participation in the Constitutional Follies, please contact my office immediately.
Fraternally, Thom
